Celebrate 50 Years of 911 Turbo: Awesome Gear for Porsche Enthusiasts

Porsche is celebrating 50 years since the introduction of the 911 Turbo. The first 911 Turbo, dubbed 930, was introduced for the 1975 model and was an instant hit among enthusiasts. Fifty years on, the popularity of Porsche as a brand has never been greater—and the 930 is a bona fide legend, with some selling for nearly twice as much as a new example.
To celebrate, Porsche is releasing a limited run of special edition Turbos featuring a few mild tweaks, such as neo-retro graphics reminiscent of the 1973 RSR Turbo, a Tartan-trimmed interior, and tons of "Turbo 50" shoutouts. There is also a run of 1974 chronographs by Porsche Design, exclusively for owners of the Special Model.
Fortunately, even if you don't have $260k to shell out for your allocation, Porsche Design has produced a line of gear (including sneakers) and accessories that celebrate the aesthetic of the Turbo 50. If Turbo-themed swag checks a box for you, in addition to the Porsche design collection I've assembled a list of some other cool Porsche Turbo gear and memorabilia.
A lifelong Porsche enthusiast, I’ve had the privilege of owning some of the brand’s finest, including the 944, 928, and Boxster. With experience working at one of the largest Porsche dealers on the East Coast and contributing to the vintage Porsche marketplace, PcarMarket, I’ve developed a deep connection to the brand's legacy and performance.
Chronograph 1 – 50 Years 911 Turbo Edition
The original Chronograph 1 was developed back in 1972 with the same design aesthetic from the instrumentation in Porsche sports cars to celebrate the brand's success in motorsports. More than 50 years later, Porsche is producing the Chronograph 1 again.
The 50 Years 911 Turbo Edition Chronograph 1 features a titanium case, a Fuchs-style winding rotor, and "Turbo" scripts on the case back and strap. The special edition Chronograph 1 is limited to just 500 units and will come with two straps, black titanium and beige cloth-and-leather.
Hoodie – 50Y Turbo
Part of the 50-Year Turbo collection, this cotton hoodie features a Turbonite tartan lining like you'd find in the cabin of the model it commemorates. It makes a perfect gift or a nice accessory for the fall driving season. This item isn't yet available for purchase at the time of this writing, but you can place your order beginning September 15, 2024.
Polo Shirt – 50Y Turbo
Like the hoodie, this polo shirt is a part of the 50-Year Turbo collection and will be available as of September 15, 2024. It's made from cotton and sports Turbonite tartan details.
P'8928 Sunglasses Turbonite Limited Edition
These limited-edition aviators are a part of the Turbo 50-year collection and are made from lightweight titanium and use scratch-resistant polycarbonate lenses. The glasses, like the watch in the collection, are limited to just 1,974 pairs. The frames include an interchangeable lens mechanism and every pair includes an additional set of green lenses. Both sets of lenses feature a discreet Turbo logo on the left side and use Porsche's patented Vision Drive lens technology.
Every pair has its limited edition number laser engraved on the frame and comes packaged in a special Turbo gift box along with a Turbo lens cleaning cloth.
Icons Porsche 911 Turbo Targa Building Set
Many of us who enjoy tinkering with our cars tend to get that same odd satisfaction from doing things like assembling Lego kits. Especially when they look just like the cars we love.
This kit allows you to build either a 911 Targa or Turbo model featuring working steering, gearstick, emergency brake, logos, and license plates. The kit includes 1,458 pieces and is just over a foot long when fully assembled.
Turbo Easy Rider Unisex Trainers
Porsche and Puma have been collaborating on lots of apparel recently, and this pair of sneakers is one of their latest drops. The Easy Rider model is unisex and features the McLaughlin tartan pattern, taken from the cabin of the very first 930 in 1974. The shoes come in an exclusive box that features the tartan design inside and out.
Turbo Trucker Cap
I like this trucker cap from Porsche Design in all-black for its low-key style. The embossed Turbo script on the front is cool, and even in the other available colors (red and beige), it offers a neat monochromatic aesthetic.

Tamiya is legendary for producing some of the best RC and model cars you can buy. Let's be clear, though: this is not an RC car. This is a highly detailed diecast model. Some assembly is required, but that's the best part, right? The vintage-looking Tamiya packaging, featuring that silver 930, is enough for me to want one on my shelf.
"1977 Porsche 911 Turbo" Graphic Art Print on Canvas
This print depicts a 1977 Porsche 930 Turbo in all of its winged glory along with some key specs for those less informed. It comes in lots of sizes, with or without a frame, or on a canvas. It'll look great in an office, lounge, or garage.
Turbo Toddler Jogger Set
Whether your toddler jogs or not, a cute Turbo-inspired jogger will (hopefully) set your kid down the path to automotive obsession. It is made from 68% cotton and 32% polyester and features snaps at the shoulders. This is a cute outfit for the budding enthusiast to wear on a ride along, at a show, or just around the house.
