Check Out This Sneak Peek of the Next-Generation Audi Q5
The current-generation Audi Q5 made its way to dealers as a 2017 model-year vehicle.
Audi is planning to show off this next-gen Q5 on September 2, 2024.
According to Audi, the company plans to reveal more than 20 new models in 2024 and 2025, with more than 10 of them using electric powertrains.
Audi is gearing up to show what it’s calling an all-new Q5 on September 2, 2024. This upcoming new Q5, according to the company’s CEO, is going to formally usher in the third generation of Audi’s popular crossover.
For those not up to speed on the Q5’s history, it made its way to the United States in 2009. This first-generation Q5 was replaced by a second-gen model in 2016 for the 2017 model year. That means this third-generation model is right on schedule.
Without any real information about the upcoming Q5, we can still expect this higher-volume Audi will stick with its blend of ICE and hybrid powertrains, but a battery-electric powertrain isn’t out of the question as the company makes moves toward electrification.
Audi plans to refresh its lineup over the next two years, with plans to show off 20 new models in that time. The company goes further and says that more than 10 of those new models will be electric.
What we can see from the teaser is that the next Q5 will carry a lot of the design language from the current Audi lineup but should look more aggressive than the current Q5. It also appears that the team at Audi is moving the daytime running lights above the lamp, like the refreshed Audi Q7.
We’ll know more details next week when the actual Q5 makes its reveal.
