Next month, Coney Island will attempt to set a world record for the most people down a water slide in one day. The park's Twister water slide will remain open for 24 hours from June 17 to 18, and any visitor who slides down the green body slide during the event will be counted toward the world record attempt.
Everyone who participates in the challenge will be given a free Coney Island day pass to be used any day during the 2022 season. Water sliders will also get an official souvenir wristband.
The world challenge attempt will mark the first time that Coney Island has remained open for a full 24 hours in its 130-year history.
