The criminal court case against the owner of the Gemballa Mirage GT who went on a wrecking-spree in Manhattan nearly a year ago was dismissed Monday.

Benjamin Chen, who was arrested in Midtown Manhattan after a series of crashes at around 7:30 a.m April 7, 2020 in his highly modified Porsche Carrera GT, was charged with reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs. The case was dismissed in a scheduled appearance Monday at the New York Criminal Court.

“The People are moving to dismiss this matter because the case cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt," a record from Monday's court appearance read.

Video from the morning of the crashing-spree shows the Mirage GT slammed into a parked Toyota Sienna at what appears to be a high rate of speed on 11th Avenue after crossing West 49th Street. In another video following that impact, the driver can be seen running at least one red light and speeding away from the collision as parts fly off the supercar.
