CSU football coach Steve Addazio fired
The Rams officially parted ways with Addazio on Thursday morning, and they'll owe him $3 million in buyout money, per the terms of his contract.
“Our expectation is to compete for conference championships and reach bowl eligibility each season. Our student-athletes deserve that, our fans deserve that, our community deserves that, and our University deserves that."

CSU hiring Jay Norvell from Nevada as next Rams football coach
The Colorado State football team appears to have its next head coach, straight from a Mountain West competitor.
The Rams are expected to hire Nevada’s Jay Norvell as their next head coach, replacing Steve Addazio after he was fired Dec. 2. A CSU source says the deal is done. Neither school has made an announcement.

Addazio 'likely' made racially insensitive comment to CSU employee
Recently fired CSU head football coach Steve Addazio "likely" made a racially insensitive comment and a statement that threatened a custodian’s job during an October 2020 altercation, according to an investigation by the university's Office of Equal Opportunity.
The involved custodian, who is Black, told an investigator that “he was ‘talked down to,’ called ‘boy’ in a derogatory manner” and had his job threatened by Addazio after the coach was told a restroom in the Colorado State University football offices was closed for cleaning on Oct. 20, 2020.
