Stainless steel often proves to be anything but—anyone with stainless steel appliances can tell you that—but the Tesla Cybertruck’s steel body panels have made a mockery of the adjective. What is a Cybertruck owner who wants the benefits of blinding body panels without the hassle of near-constantly cleaning to do? One owner had a brilliant idea, and it only cost him $4,200 on top of his $100,000 truck. - Erin Marquis Read More

Koenigsegg was still a fairly new company with just 30 employees when it built the CCGT. Based on the Competition Coupe CC8S, which had been launched as the company’s first road-legal offering in 2002, the CCGT was intended to go GT1 racing. From the beginning, the road car was designed to GT1 regulations, including the vehicle width and cockpit frontal area. The homologation rules required at least twenty road cars, and with Koenigsegg’s hand-built philosophy that took a handful of years, so by the time they finished building the CCGT in 2007 and tested it for racing, the class was effectively dismantled. - Bradley Brownell Read More

A lot of drivers on America’s roads are pretty angry, but perhaps nobody is quite as angry as this pickup owner who had their truck towed in New York this weekend. On Friday, September 13, 2024, the car news website Autoblog.com will cease to exist. The site that started with the philosophy of covering every single scrap of automotive news is shutting down after 20 years in the biz. And though we had, at times, an adversarial relationship with the ’Blog, you won’t find one Jalopnik alum who would disagree that Autoblog and the great people who worked there deserved better. - Erin Marquis Read More

When Jeremy Clarkson was leading the charge at “Top Gear,” the team came under fire for faking all kinds of stunts and tricks, but he maintained through it all that the show’s road tests were fair. However, his successor at “Top Gear,” Chris Harris, claimed on Joe Rogan’s podcast that a review of the original Tesla Roadster was faked on the show and this hasn’t gone down well with Clarkson at all. - Owen Bellwood Read More
