Sadly, Mitsubishi never sold the Lancer Evolution VI in the United States. We didn't get the Evo until the early 2000s, well after sixth-gen production ended. That didn't stop Washington-state resident Brent Coleman from acquiring one of his own, even it if it meant building one himself.

In an interview with The Drive, Coleman said he'd always wanted an Evo V or VI. When he found out the forbidden fruit JDM rally weapon shared a chassis with the Mitsubishi Mirage—a car sold stateside—he knew he had to build one of his own. So he went about sourcing all of the various parts needed to pull off a full conversion, and used his first-ever car, a 1998 Mirage sedan, as a donor. The goal? Build an Evo VI Tommi Mäkinen edition for himself.
