Driver in fatal Downtown crash who ignored traffic signals sentenced to 4 years in prison

A man who prosecutors said ignored several traffic signals Downtown before crashing his car last year, killing his passenger, was sentenced Thursday to four years in prison.

Shalom Jones, 37, pleaded guilty Thursday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court to aggravated vehicular homicide and vehicular assault. Judge Melba Marsh imposed the sentence.

The May 7, 2022, crash killed 26-year-old Yahdea Brown. Family members said she was a friend of Jones. Police said that after the crash, he fled, leaving Brown behind.
