Emmerdale airs the outcome of Cathy Hope disappearance

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Cathy Hope has decided to leave the village after her disappearance in Emmerdale.

The teen has been at the center of an issue-based storyline where she has experienced severe mood swings as part of her suspected Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder diagnosis.

This week, she got so drunk with friend Marshall that he was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment for alcohol poisoning.

The family were alarmed in Friday's (April 28) episode as they realised Cathy was nowhere to be found when it came time to go to school.

Panic started to set in when a returning Marshall denied that Cathy had come to see him at the hospital, then Brenda discovered some of her personal items were missing from her room.

Just as Brenda was about to phone the police, Cathy returned to explain that she'd sat at the bus station for hours trying to figure out where to go before she ended up back home.

Bob was relieved to have Cathy home and the teen apologised for worrying her family.

"It's been a tough old week," Brenda admitted.

Cathy explained that while she appreciated her family for supporting her, she thought it was best for her to go away to the Lakes to see older brother Scott Windsor.

"I'm not sitting my exams, I can't stay here, I just can't," she explained. "I feel like I'm on display all the time, everyone just waiting for me to break down or freak out."

Bob promised he'd call Scott and make arrangements, adding: "Whatever you need. That's what we agreed, isn't it?"

While Cathy is temporarily leaving the village, viewers are likely to see her again down the line…

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
