Erie's James Conner agrees to three-year contract with Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals announced on Twitter on Monday that they have agreed to terms on a three-year contract with running back James Conner.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the contract is worth $21 million, including $13.5 million guaranteed and $16 million in the first two years.
Conner, a 26-year-old Erie native who graduated from McDowell High School, made the Pro Bowl in his first year with the Cardinals.
He signed a one-year, free-agent contract with Arizona in April 2021 after spending his first four NFL seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With the Cardinals, Conner scored a career-high 18 touchdowns, which ranked third in the NFL behind Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor and Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler, who tied for the NFL lead with 20 TDs.

Conner also finished with 15 rushing touchdowns, which tied him for second in the NFL with New England Patriots running back Damien Harris, behind only Taylor (18).
Conner led the Steelers in rushing each season from 2018-20, but Pittsburgh allowed him to enter free agency and they eventually selected Alabama running back Najee Harris in the first round of the 2021 draft.
