This Facebook Marketplace "Cool Bus" is the Ultimate Party Bus
School buses are large, reasonably powerful, reliable enough to run their routes all week long, and can seat dozens. All those strengths make a bus a useful starting point for a custom, so long as you are willing to drive around in something that still resembles a school bus. One builder on Facebook Marketplace leaned into that idea with a unique truck build. Dubbed the Cool Bus, it’s a one-off custom toy hauler that’ll transport you and over a dozen of your closest friends to your next great getaway.
Based on a 2010 Bluebird school bus, this vehicle features a Cummins diesel engine, an Allison automatic gearbox, and only 114,000 miles on the odometer. That powertrain is legendarily reliable so, provided there aren’t any significant issues, it should power this Cool Bus for several years to come.
According to the seller in Mount Hope, West Virginia, it runs and drives great. Certainly, the driver will appreciate that its smaller stature compared to a full-size bus makes it easier to handle. Of course, if they use the custom-tailored fifth-wheel trailer hitch in the back they’ll need to swing wide on most turns.
There’s no word on exactly how much this Cool bus can tow but stock versions often can pull up to 13,500 pounds or more depending on their powertrain. If that’s true of this one it would easily haul most travel trailers, horse trailers, or even a larger boat when needed. At the same time, there are a few things one could do to spruce it up even further.
It still features at least six of the original bench seats. Those with a bit of imagination and know-how could likely put that space to better use. In addition, it appears as though the paint could also use some attention. For now, the seller is asking $12,500 which doesn’t sound too bad considering that this is the coolest bus we’ve seen in ages.
