Toyota revealed today a set of images for its new LMP1 race car, the GR010, ahead of its official reveal on Thursday, January 15. The images, taken at the Paul Ricard circuit in France during a test day in October 2020, give us our first real look at the car that's almost certainly going to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year.

Though the GR010 here is camouflaged, this is still our first real look at a finished car designed to compete in the LMH category (Le Mans Hypercar). Toyota has yet to release any specifications or a driver lineup for 2021, though we expect to hear more about both tomorrow during the official unveiling.

In typical LMP fashion, the car is kitted out with some extreme aero bits, including a massive front splitter, canards, a roof scoop, and a gigantic wing. The headlights make up a good portion of the frontal area, while the cockpit is relegated to the very center of the car.

We can't wait to hear what sort of powertrain Toyota has hidden behind the cabin.
