Florida Woman Drives Her Porsche Off A Parking Garage

A Florida woman in her Porsche Cayenne made a common mistake, resulting in her driving through a third-story retaining wall in a parking garage. However, luck was on her side and the luxury crossover didn’t plunge all the way down to the ground for a reason that’s shockingly simple.
Thief steals car while owner inflates the tires.
The Porsche hit a tree nose-first, stopping its descent. This might be one of the few times where hitting a tree with your car would be a good thing. You can see the back tires are still on the edge of the parking structure, where the demolished wall normally would be.
It required Coral Gables Fire to respond and extract the woman from the Porsche using rigging. But they pulled off the delicate operation, saving the driver and averting disaster.
This just goes to show that the walls on parking garages often aren’t all that strong. They seem incapable of stopping speeding SUVs and perhaps a fair number of modern cars.
Combine that with people who seem to not know the difference between the accelerator and brake pedals and the combination isn’t great. This sort of thing has caused accidents in parking structures, parking lots, and public roads so many times.
We’ll call this one a miracle because had that tree not been right where the Cayenne crashed through the wall this would most likely have been a fatal accident. Perhaps this woman should’ve bought a lottery ticket or something after surviving so miraculously since luck was smiling on her.
To get the Porsche back into the garage, crews had to lift it up using a crane while pulling from inside the garage using a winch. It was a delicate operation, but officials pulled it off, preserving what was left of the vehicle.
