Ford Performance is now offering a calibration tool for the 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor and the 2022-2024 Bronco Raptor.
Ford says this calibration tool will crank up your Bronco or Ranger Raptor’s 3.0-liter to 455 hp and 536 lb-ft of torque.
The calibration tool costs $825, before shipping, taxes, and any installation fees.
If you think your Ford Ranger Raptor or Bronco Raptor doesn’t have enough power, the folks at Ford Performance might have your solution: a set of performance calibration devices that unlock some extra oomph. According to Ford, these tuners crank your Ranger or your Bronco Raptor up to a cool 455 hp and 536 lb-ft of torque.
If you’re wondering how much of a performance bump from as-delivered examples of either of these Raptor rigs, it’s a big jump. The Ranger Raptor nets 50 hp and 106 lb-ft of torque, while the Bronco Raptor adds 37 hp and 96 lb-ft of torque. Ford says these performance calibration devices also adjust your shift schedule and give you better throttle response.
Now, there are some downsides. First, if you live in California it’s worth noting that this calibration device is certified in 49 states, and California isn’t one of them. It’s also $825 before any taxes or fees, and it requires 91 octane fuel—so, it’s not exactly free horsepower.
If you want to get a break on that cost, and maybe some other performance upgrades from Ford, the company is offering a 20% discount for anyone who takes part in its Raptor Rally on September 21 in Fairfield, Utah. This discount is good for either of these calibration tools, and other eligible Ford Performance accessories.
Of course, that off-road adventure will set you back $500 plus other fees, so you might have to break out the abacus to see if it’s worth the discount.
