Why does Ford allow this?

YouTuber Speed Phenom has caused waves by calling attention to a new 2020 Shelby GT500 for sale at an unnamed California Ford dealership (but you can see the name for a moment in the video) for a whopping $205,890. That’s quite the price hike, enough that plenty of enthusiasts are mad this is even happening. And while it’s not unheard of for dealers to take advantage of people desperate to buy a certain halo model like the GT500, it still a frustrating thing to see happen.

Granted, this car does come with the Carbon Fiber Track Pack, that only adds $18,500 to the base price, which according to Ford’s website is $74,095. If you don’t want to do the math, that adds up to $92,595.

The GT500looks great, we have to admit. A combination of Iconic Silver with the optional painted Absolute Black racing stripe is a nice touch, but keep in mind that adds another $10,000 to the price, per Ford. So now we’re looking at $102,595. Those exposed carbon-fiber wheels come with the package, but they sure look nice. Same goes for the red Brembo brake calipers and that rear wing.
