Ford will include a free home charger and pay for installation when people buy or lease a new EV.
Called the Ford Power Promise, the program also includes 24-hour support and roadside assistance if they run out of charge.
The complimentary charger and installation will be available from October 1, 2024, to January 2, 2025.
Ford wants to incentivize people to buy or lease a new EV, so it's introducing a program that includes a free home charger. When someone takes the keys to a new F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, or E-Transit cargo van, they'll also get professionals to install the Ford Charge Station Pro at their home.
This deal is part of the Ford Power Promise, which also includes around-the-clock support and roadside assistance. Ford says customers can text a live advisor 24 hours a day, seven days a week if they need any support regarding their EV. If they ever run out of charge or experience a breakdown, Ford says its roadside assistance will pick them up and take them to the nearest charging station or dealership
The complimentary home charger and installation is available for people who buy or lease a new Ford EV between October 1, 2024, and January 2, 2025. The Ford Charge Station Pro typically costs $1310, and it provides bi-direction power, meaning an EV's stored battery power can be used to provide electricity to a home in the event of a power outage. It's an SAE Level 2 charger that provides up to 80 amps, and it features a CCS-type port.
Ford said it will offer a $2000 credit for new EV customers who live in an apartment or don't own a home where a charger can be installed.
