  • The Ford Raptor T1+ is Ford Performance’s latest off-road racing effort.

  • Ford will have the Raptor T1+ on display at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

  • The Raptor T1+ packs a 5.0-liter Coyote-based V8 under the hood and a steel spaceframe chassis under the carbon-fiber bodywork.

Ford is taking its Raptor on a tour of some of the most grueling races on the planet, with a pit stop at one of the biggest automotive celebrations in the world. The automaker’s Raptor T1+ race truck will be part of the festivities at this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed ahead of its looming competition schedule.

Like basically every other T1+-class racing machine, there isn’t too much from the Ford Factory that makes its way to this race rig. The Raptor T1+ uses a T45 steel spaceframe chassis that’s draped in carbon-fiber bodywork. The Raptor T1+ rides on a set of 37-inch tires that wrap a set of 17 x 8.5-inch alloy wheels.

While there isn’t much equipment from the factory, the powertrain is not too far removed from the F-150 or Mustang GT. Under the hood is a 5.0-liter Coyote-based V8. Ford didn’t reveal modifications for the Coyote-based V8 but did note that it now sports a dry-sump oiling system and a revised exhaust system.

As you’d expect from an off-road race rig, the suspension is probably the most important component. This Raptor T1+ sports double wishbones at each corner to control those large tires. Softening the blows is a set of remote reservoir Fox coilovers at each corner.

If you’re heading to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, you’ll have a chance to see this Ford Performance off-road racer on the morning of Friday, July 12, in the Ballroom Paddock. Whether it will run up the hill at the Duke of Richmond’s estate is not clear.

Then comes the competition calendar: You can see this rig in anger at the 2024 Baja Hungary in August, the 2024 Rallye du Maroc in October, and the 2025 Dakar Rally in January.
