The hunkered-down Ford Edge brings some brawn to the mid-sized crossover SUV field, especially if you go for the top-of-the-line Edge Sport with 22-inch wheels, blacked-out front grille, and sport-tuned suspension. There's room for five, standard MyFord with a 4.2-inch center display (upgradeable to Sync with MyFord Touch), 6 airbags, hill-start assist, and a host of optional equipment throughout the model range. With three engines offered, the Edge pulls no punches too. A 3.5-liter V-6 supplying 285 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque is the base engine on SE, SEL, and Limited trims, with a 240-hp, 270-lb-ft turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder serving as a fuel-conscious alternative. The Edge Sport's sole engine is the 3.7-liter V-6 shared with the base Mustang, producing 305 hp and 280 lb-ft in crossover guise. It's 6-speed automatic transmissions all around while the standard drive layout is front-wheel drive with all-wheel drive selectable on either six-cylinder. The turbocharged version touts an EPA-rated 21/30 mpg city/highway - remarkable for a vehicle of its size - earned by virtue of its downsized powertrain and active front grille shutters. The rest vary between 17-19 mpg in the city and 23-27 mpg on the highway. The Ford Edge is covered by a 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. See more... See Less

Reviews and Ratings
Overall
Pros Cons
Overall feel of vehicle - it just makes me feel safe. Trunk space - i'm used to a minivan. would like more room.
Comfort driving - could sit in it all day! Location of clock and no cupholders on doors
Touch screen gives good detail and is easy to use The fuel economy could be better for the size engine
I like how i can control everything from the steering wheel Ford sync option - lots of problems. had to reset twice
Fuel mileage - good around town / excellent on highway Loss of some leg room compared to fusion
Handling and response from steering wheel: amazing! The edges on the seat should be able to withstand more weight
Computer system, voice activation is wonderful. Voice recognition for audio - especially this navigation
Cargo loading - great space; access & cargo net Outside noise. would like greater noise reduction in car.
Memory seats for multiple drivers = must! The blinker is a little awkward and opposite from prior models
Interior 2-tone pattern is style is wonderful Center console - not convienient, too little storage
