This Grafitti-Covered BMW E30 M3 Desperately Needs to Be Saved

From Road & Track

If you're like us, you're lamenting the fact that most running, clean-titled BMW E30 M3s are reaching stratospheric prices. What was once a $25,000 drivable classic has turned into a garage-queen for the wealthy collector. Except for this one, that is.

At first glance, this 1989 E30 M3 Craigslist find looks like a total junker. There's a bunch of body damage, some paint scrapes, and even a dented-in C-pillar. Additionally, someone's taken a can of pink spray paint to the body, drawing lines on every panel, and even a smily face on the front bumper. It's in pretty bad shape, something that would take a lot of time and money to get presentable.

But there's more to this car than meets the eye. It's actually very complete, with original wheels and (most) of its glass present in pictures. The seller claims it retains its fantastic original four-cylinder S14 motor, which runs "excellent." And most importantly, it has a clean title, meaning it's probably never been any sort of major accident.

The best part? The seller's only asking $20,000. Sure, that might sound like an insane amount for a graffiti-covered, 200,000-mile 27-year-old BMW, but these days, finding a running, driving, accident-free E30 M3 for less than double that number is a real struggle.
