Greg Biffle And Cleetus McFarland Team Up For Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts

Former NASCAR Cup Series driver Greg Biffle and car YouTuber Cleetus McFarland have joined forces to help in the wake of recent flooding and landslides. In desperate times after Hurricane Helene devastated communities in Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina it’s inspiring to see people step up to help those in need.

They and others have been using private helicopters to fly supplies and otherwise provide assistance to communities which have been cut off by the devastation. Many of those communities are still partially underwater, have no power, and essentials like food or gas are running out.

McFarland just three weeks ago uploaded a video showing how an abandoned helicopter he acquired, lovingly called Consuela, has been fixed and can finally fly again. Instead of just using the aircraft for YouTube fodder, he actually took it on supply runs to North Carolina and Tennessee, hauling all that would safely fit inside.

Biffle has been able to get hundreds of Starlink terminals delivered to remote mountain communities. Polaris, SpaceX, and Starlink have all chipped in financial support for the effort. With cell and internet service down for many, people need the satellite connection so they can let loved ones know they’re okay.

What’s more, Biffle has collected generators and fuel containers from businesses to further help. Two-stroke oil and chains for chainsaws have also been high on the list of requested items, thanks to fallen trees littering the towns.

The former racecar driver also says businesses and private individuals have been sending more helicopters and supplies. He seems overwhelmed with the support pouring out to help the mountain communities.

Not only has Biffle been working to provide aid to the areas hardest hit by Helene, he’s been spreading awareness about just how bad things are. While some have complained about media coverage not being sufficient, Biffle has been taking action by sharing videos sent by residents of the devastation, as well as footage taken via helicopter, spreading awareness in an effort to drum up even more support.

They say in times of crisis look for those who are helping. It’s great to see Biffle and McFarland leading the charge to help Helene’s victims get back on their feet.
