Oliver Bearman will participate in the Formula 1 São Paulo Grand Prix Sprint Race for the Haas F1 Team in place of an unwell Kevin Magnussen.

Magnussen, who finished seventh in Mexico City last Sunday, was present at the Interlagos circuit on Thursday but suffered from sickness overnight. As a consequence, Bearman has been drafted in to drive Magnussen’s car for Friday’s activity at the São Paulo Grand Prix.

As Friday’s track action includes one practice session and Sprint qualifying, it means Bearman will remain in the VF-24 for Saturday morning’s Sprint Race.

Per the regulations, Magnussen is then able to return for Saturday’s qualifying session, if he is well enough to do so, because qualifying officially counts as a practice session.

Bearman participated in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix as a late replacement for Carlos Sainz at Ferrari, finishing in seventh, and competed for Haas at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix when Magnussen was suspended, taking 10th.

Bearman will replace Magnussen full time at Haas in 2025, partnering with current Alpine racer Esteban Ocon.

Haas enters the weekend sixth in the Constructors’ Championship after a strong run of form.
