Hennessey’s 1,000-hp Camaro ZL1 Exorcist Final Edition is showcased in a video.
As the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro fades into automotive history, Hennessey Performance Engineering is offering a memorable farewell with the Camaro ZL1 Exorcist Final Edition. This high-octane tribute to the beloved muscle car boasts a staggering 1,000 horsepower, aiming to leave a lasting impression as it challenges other iconic rivals, like the recently retired Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170.
Hennessey has recently shared a four-minute video on their YouTube channel that captures the essence of this powerful machine. The video forgoes narration, focusing instead on the visceral roar of the supercharged V8 engine. It begins with detailed shots of the Exorcist's impressive performance parts before showcasing the car in action both on the open road and at Hennessey’s test track.
The Exorcist Final Edition's upgrades are extensive. Hennessey has reworked the Camaro ZL1's supercharged 6.2-liter V8 LT4 engine with a host of enhancements, including a new high-flow supercharger, high-flow intake, and an upgraded fueling system. Additional modifications include new injectors, ported heads, a custom camshaft, and a strengthened valve train. These improvements elevate the engine’s output from the factory’s 650 horsepower to an astonishing 1,000 horsepower and 966 pound-feet of torque.
The performance numbers are as impressive as the upgrades suggest. The Exorcist Final Edition rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.1 seconds and completes the quarter-mile in an astonishing 9.57 seconds. The car reaches a top speed of 217 mph, solidifying its status as a fitting tribute to the Camaro’s legacy.
