Hyundai Plans To Build the N Vision 74Hyundai

In July of 2022, Hyundai revealed the unbelievable N Vision 74 concept. After two years of rumors and executive quotes about a possible production run, Hyundai has finally officially acknowledged plans to bring the concept to the road.

The news comes from a subtle line in a presentation at the brand's 2024 CEO Investor Day, in a slide covering the brand's planned EV lineup by 2030. It mentions 21 planned models over the Hyundai, Genesis, and N brands, and the column for Genesis and N performance cars acknowledges the existence of plans to build the concept with a simple line that says "Hyundai N (Vision 74)."

It is the loosest and least detailed confirmation possible. All that can be safely inferred from the information presented is that the production version of the N Vision 74 will launch by 2030 as part of the brand's 21-model EV expansion plan. The reveal includes no confirmation of whether or not the car's innovative hydrogen powertrain will be part of the plan, no details on what performance targets the car plans to hit, and no information about when the car will actually be revealed in full.

A rumor reported by a South Korean newspaper back in May suggested that Hyundai is targeting production in June 2026, less than two years from now. The same report claimed that the car would produce over 775 hp and retain its hydrogen fuel cell, although a 62.5 kWh battery would also be built into the car. Low production numbers and a high price are expected whenever the N Vision 74 goes on sale, and the June report suggested that as few as 200 units could be built.

The final version of the N Vision 74 should serve as an effective replacement for the mid-engined supercar that the brand had planned to build back in 2019.
