James Hinchcliffe Rejoins Andretti Autosport for Full IndyCar Season

IndyCar fan-favorite and lovable Canadian James Hinchcliffe lost his full-time IndyCar drive for 2020 when his team, Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, was taken over by McLaren and switched to Chevy power. A Honda ambassador, Hinch ran a few races with Andretti Autosport last year, and for 2021, he's rejoining the team full time driving the No. 29 car. "This team has been like family to me since I first joined back in 2012," Hinch said, per NBC Sports. "We always said we would get the band back together. We did a little reunion tour last year, but now we’re fully back together." Hinch got three of his six career wins with Andretti, and will join a formidable lineup, as he'll be paired with Alexander Rossi, Colton Herta, and Ryan Hunter-Reay.
