The Jeep Patriot is split into base Sport, mid-range Latitude, and top-of-the-line Limited models. The small crossover, with a shape reminiscent of the old Cherokee, brings Jeep flair to a compact package for the urban and daily-driving environments. It starts with front-wheel drive mated to either the 158-horsepower 2.0-liter I-4 or the optional 172-hp 2.4-liter I-4. Buyers may then select the Freedom Drive I or Freedom Drive II all-wheel-drive system suitable for light off-roading and tackling inclement weather. While a five-speed manual transmission is offered for either engine, the CVT is by far the more popular option. Each Patriot model comes with its own specific level of equipment and creature comforts. Amenities like power windows, air conditioning, a 60/40 flat-folding backseat, power/heated side mirrors, front and full side-curtain airbags, and illuminated cup holders are standard, whereas heated seating, navigation, and fancier sound systems require migration to higher trims. There was a heavy focus on safety as the Patriot claims over 30 safety and security features. Optional packages include an All-Weather Capability Group, Security and Cargo Convenience Group, Sun and Sound Group, and Premium Sound Group. There's also the Trailer-Tow Prep Group, if you ever want to utilize the Patriot's 2000-pound towing capacity. See more... See Less

Pros Cons
Ride and handling are the best in this class of vehicle. Gas tank is too small, range is very poor.
Gas mileage for size of the car is good Seat material - traps every piece of lint & dirt, stains easily
Severe weather / off road ability is outstanding. Not enough storage space in the front seat
Overall interior space for the size of the car is impressive The rear seat leg room and the console in the rear.
My wife is 4 feet 8 inches and is very comfortable in driving Idles too slow. stalls at startup. not adjustable
Love how seat is perfect height getting in & out. First cup holder cannot be used, too close to gear shift
Love 4wd on the fly & excellent turning radius! Brakes need to be applied hard to work well
Vents on dash are easy to clean, aim anywhere, and no buffeting Cvt is quick, but the jerkiness when cold is unacceptable.
Four wheel drive with traction cotnrol - good on ice & snow Getting in and out of vehicle is destroying bottom of driver seat.
Visibility out front window Lack of power windows: they should be standard
