John Force Is Back At The Track

John Force has returned to the track triumphantly after his scary crash, even though for now he didn’t get behind the wheel. People celebrated the racing legend’s return at the NHRA Nevada Nationals over the weekend at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a moment documented on film and shared by John Force Racing via YouTube.

As the video notes, Force crashed in Richmond, Virginia 131 days previous to this visit. While he was badly injured, he’s now walking about and even took the time to sign autographs for some adoring fans.

He also got to witness his daughter, Brittany Force, secure the provisional No. 1 spot for the John Force Racing team while piloting her Top Fuel dragster. She ripped down the strip at 3.675 seconds at 336.74 mph. She also expressed her joy at her father returning to the NHRA scene.

Less than two weeks ago Force addressed his fans via another video, stating “I’m getting better already.” He also talked about rehabilitating both his body and mind in preparation to return to racing after the horrific crash during the NHRA Virginia Nationals back on June 23.

Force not only fractured his sternum and suffered other bodily injuries in his crash, he was inflicted with a traumatic brain injury as well. That’s meant a difficult path of rehabilitation after his extensive hospital stay.

After footage of Force’s crash initially circulated online, some questioned if he would ultimately survive whatever injuries he suffered. Then as his condition became clearer, there were questions about his ability to walk and talk, let alone drive a racecar.

While he is definitely walking and talking again, it’s unclear if or when he will pilot another vehicle on the strip. We will have to wait and see what’s on the horizon for Force, but we wouldn’t bet against the man at this point.
