Sieg Flips Upside Down on Final Lap of Michigan Race, Allgaier Wins Under Yellow
A late caution combined with rain brought on an overtime finish at Michigan International Raceway in the Cabo Wabo 250. Justian Allgaier pulled to a significant lead before the yellow flag was waived on the last lap.
Carson Kvapil spun after being hit in the right rear, bringing out the yellow. Chandler Smith and Kyle Sieg slid down the track, with Sieg flipping upside down and sliding through the grass.
The driver of the No. 28 was okay after the incident.

Bob Pockrass of Fox: NASCAR talked with Sieg once he was cleared from the infield care center.
"I was hoping we could have a good finish, but you know how the green-white-checkers go," Sieg told Pockrass. "You're pretty much going to get destroyed, and that's what happened."
"From that, I was turned into the infield, and I closed my eyes when I was going upside down. It was a scary ride. I'm glad I'm alright. It just knocked the wind out of me there."

Allgaier took the win under yellow, grabbing his second win of the season and first career win at Michigan, to move into 10th place on the all-time win list for the Xfinity series with 25.
Sheldon Creed finished second for the 11th time. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver was announced to the Haas Factory Team earlier today and is still chasing his first win in the Xfinity series. Creed now holds the record for most second-place finishes without a win.
Before ultimately crashing and finishing 26th, Kvapil led late but was on a different pit strategy than the majority of the field. When he went to pit with 14 laps to go, Allgaier inherited the lead.
With nine laps remaining, Kyle Weatherman lost his right front tire and collided hard with the wall, running along it for half a corner before stopping. Weatherman was able to walk to the in-care center under his own power, but he had a slight limp.

Weatherman's crash is what brought out the eighth and final caution. While under yellow, it started to rain, and the race red-flagged for the second time, sending another NASCAR race into to overtime. Allgaier had the clear advantage on the start. With the competition unable to draft together and keep him in hunting distance, he pulled away to the lead before, ultimately, the yellow on the final lap ended the race.
Allgaier ended his post-race front-stretch interview with NBC wondering if the driver that flipped was okay.
"I hope whoever got turned over is okay," Allgaier said to NASCAR on NBC.
