There’s an old saying that the fastest muscle car on the road is the V6 version of one. If you’re laughing you get it because for whatever reason it’s always the guys with the lower-powered vehicles which really push them constantly. That’s what we have with this Lexus IS200 driver who tries fleeing from a Florida trooper using a turbocharged four-banger.

Watch a Toyota Corolla take a beating and keep on fleeing.

Needless to say it doesn’t end well for the suspect, but it’s also entertaining to watch play out. This genius driver is just blasting along in the left lane, completely oblivious to the Florida Highway Patrol cruiser hidden among the semi-trucks in the right lane.

The trooper catches the Lexus going about 30 mph over the speed limit. It’s going to be an expensive ticket, sure, but the suspect pulls over at first. But perhaps she started thinking as the trooper was running her info and writing the ticket that she didn’t have to comply.

That right there shows just how dumb this driver is. We don’t recommend running from law enforcement since you’ll probably get a felony fleeing charge, but it’s even worse to pull over, hand over all your stuff, then take off.

And she of course doesn’t realize her low-level Lexus IS is competely outmatched by the trooper’s cruiser. It would be funny watching her try to flee like that if only she wasn’t putting so many lives in danger cutting it close with other cars, driving on the shoulder, etc.

All that reckless driving catches up after she gets off the highway and ironically curbs her wheels at speed, wrecking out. Taking the ticket would’ve been far cheaper and likely not have involved criminal charges.

Remember this if you ever feel tempted to run from a cop. It isn’t worth the risk.
