Longtime Milwaukee broadcaster Sandy Maxx to co-anchor afternoon drive show on WTMJ-AM (620)
Veteran Milwaukee broadcaster Sandy Maxx has been named co-anchor of the afternoon drive-time show on WTMJ-AM (620), joining longtime on-air host John Mercure.
She replaces Melissa Barclay, who left the Milwaukee radio station for a communications position at Marquette University in October.
Maxx first landed on Milwaukee radio in 2001, when she joined WKLH-FM (96.5) as on-air talent. After a lengthy stint at WMYX-FM (99.1) and some time on WIIL-FM in Kenosha, she returned to WKLH in 2014, most recently as afternoon drive co-host.
Maxx starts her new gig on WTMJ's 3 to 6 p.m. show Dec. 12.
In addition to Mercure, who replaced Jonathan Green as WTMJ's drive-time host in January 2011, "Wisconsin's Afternoon News" features sports director Greg Matzek and traffic reporter Debbie Lazaga.
Maxx also has hosted "The Arts Page" on WMVS-TV (Channel 10) since 2012.
