Los Angeles Motorcycle Chase Displays Some Impressive Riding

One of the challenges to riding a motorcycle in cities like Los Angeles is the heavy traffic combined with drivers who just don’t look. The risk is multiplied greatly when suspects on motorcycles run from police like this rider who recently pushed his bike to over 100 mph while lane splitting between slow-moving cars.
Watch cops use Stop Sticks on a fleeing Dodge Hellcat.
While we think that’s a dumb idea, because it is, this guy is obviously a good rider. He’s not wobbling, duck walking his bike, and demonstrating why taking lessons instead of just barely getting your motorcycle endorsement is a good idea.
As livestreamed by Fox 11 Los Angeles, the rider apparently was originally caught by California Highway Patrol speeding. The reporter said he believed it was a motorcycle cop who originally tried pulling the suspect over.
It’s too bad this didn’t turn into a motorcycle vs motorcycle battle because those can be thrilling. Yes, it would’ve been dangerous and in reality wouldn’t be good policy, but for our entertainment that would’ve been great to watch.
Instead, CHP and other law enforcement agencies in the area pulled back and let this guy do his thing. A sheriff’s helicopter was spotted in the air, so he was still being tracked likely so ground units could just approach him later when he was off the bike and not as much of a flight risk.
But lane splitting at 70-90 mph, blasting down the highway at 108 mph even with space is just insane. The guy probably has some sort of criminal record, maybe even warrants. It’s either that or he’s an adrenaline junky and saw the chase as a way to have fun and get that fix.
Funny enough, the guy pulled into a retail parking lot and just disappeared behind a tree. It was the perfect escape and the conclusion to a crazy helicopter chase.
