‘I’m a pop star that normally hides my face’: Sia reveals she’s had a facelift

Australian singer-songwriter Sia, who infamously hides her face when performing, has revealed that she has had a facelift.

The Chandelier hit-maker, 47, shared that she had gone under the knife as she took to the stage on Sunday at the 5th annual Daytime Beauty Awards in Los Angeles.

Sia – whose full name is Sia Kate Isobelle Furler – made the admission while presenting her “good friend” Dr Ben Talei with the Outstanding Achievement in Medicine

MailOnline reported that she said: “I’m a pop star that normally hides my face and doesn’t lie about s**t. I got an amazing facelift from Dr Talei. He is incredible. And he is doing so much good work – and not just for the pop stars of the world.”

Dr Talei then remarked: “I don’t know if you guys know how amazing Sia is as a person. We have a lot of common friends and it’s always shocking how many keep saying, ‘I love her, I love her, I love her. She’s amazing.”

Sia added: “I don’t want to be critiqued about the way that I look on the internet. I’ve been writing pop songs for pop stars for a couple of years, and I’ve become friends with them and see what their life is like, and that’s not something I want.”

Sia, who first burst onto the music scene back in 1995, has spoken candidly in the past about her active decision to hide her face when on stage.

Speaking to her friend Kristen Wiig in a Q&A for Refinery29, Sia explained that she liked to have “control over her image” at a time when people feel the need to comment about every little detail on the internet.

She told the publication: “I would like not to be picked apart or for people to observe when I put on ten pounds or take off ten pounds or I have a hair extension out of place or my fake tan is botched...

“Most people don’t have to be under that pressure, and I’d like to be one of them. I don’t want to be followed by paparazzi.”
