McLaren's all-inclusive Epic New Zealand Tour consisted of 31 cars from around the world traveling from Auckland, Bruce McLaren's hometown to Queenstown. Gourmet dining, track experiences, jet boating and glacial heli-tours...you name it!

Local media reports that Amanda McLaren, Bruno Senna and Derek Bell also took part in McLaren's trip, while the four-wheeled star of the convoy was Australia's well known F1, chassis 009.

Built in 1994 as the 8th F1 to leave Woking, 009 is finished in Magnesium Silver. And now, McLaren Special Operations will have to mix up another can of paint for it, because it ended up in a ditch the wrong way around following a tight left-hand uphill bend heading towards Glenorchy. Fortunately, both its 65-year-old driver and the car itself sustained only minor injuries. As our resident McLaren expert Peloton25 points it out, this wasn't 009's first rodeo either:

"This exact F1 was nearly written off in a previous accident back in 1997 with a BMW Sydney mechanic behind the wheel while still with the original owner. I doubt this minor off is going to have much more of an impact on its valuation."
