'Mr. Le Mans' Tom Kristensen Somehow Keeps Control of This 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB at Goodwood Revival
While turning laps in a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB during the Goodwood Revival on Friday, the nine-time Le Mans Champion, Tom Kristensen, had to correct course to escape a slide in the rain. His quick moves saved the owner of the vintage Ferrari a costly repair bill.
Kristensen gets fully sideways into a corner before fighting the wheel and saving the skid. The Danish driver won in his Le Mans debut in 1997 as the newest member of Joest Racing, the same team that won in 1996. While he may be out of practice since retiring from the sport full-time following the 2014 season, certain reflexes stay with the greats.
Tom Kristensen, take a bow! Unbelievable car control in the 1961 #Ferrari 250 GT SWB. How on earth he's not lost this in these soaking wet conditions, we'll never know. That's probably why he's a 9-time Le Mans winner. #GoodwoodRevival pic.twitter.com/e6Ge14Z3gH

A 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB recently went on sale in Italy for €6,586,250 or approximately $7,303,822 by current conversion.
Kristensen was among the many Le Mans champions racing in this year's revival, racing Le Mans caliber vintage cars against each other. Kristensen retired from full-time racing in 2014, finishing second in his final 24 Hours of Le Mans attempt for Audi; his last win came the year prior in 2013.

The Goodwood Revival has been running since 1998 to celebrate the cars that would've competed at Goodwood during the circuit's original period of 1948-1966.
