For some reason, people in Arkansas still don’t seem to understand if they successfully outrun local law enforcement a state trooper will likely come in and end the pursuit. We’ve seen this happen time and again with disastrous results for suspects, like this guy in a 2008 Ford Mustang who gets a big PIT at 103 mph.

C7 Corvette crashes trying to cross pedestrian bridge.

Before Trooper Cash jumps into the chase, he overhears on the radio that Conway Police have been trailing behind the pony car as the suspect pushes it to 130 mph. You’ll notice at the beginning of the dashcam footage the trooper’s speed is above that as he races to catch up.

It doesn’t take long for him to see the flashing lights of the police cruisers ahead. He pulls up to them in a hurry and goes onto the left shoulder to get around, one of the Conway cops almost swerving into his cruiser. But it’s all in a day’s work for the trooper.

As he gets closer to the Mustang, the driver hucks out what the trooper reports as narcotics. That might be why the guy didn’t want to submit to a traffic stop.

Seeing the gap close further, the suspect swerves his Mustang onto the right shoulder to get around a slower-moving semi-truck, as if that will give him cover from what’s coming. It obviously doesn’t, because right as he swerves around the cab the trooper is on him like a cheetah chasing down a gazelle.

That’s when he swiftly performs a PIT maneuver, catching the back corner of the pony car and spinning it out into the cable median barrier. The driver is okay as evidenced by his jumping out and making a run for it, but cops swarm him and that’s the end of the chase.

Don’t run from police in Arkansas. Even if you get away, ASP will be there to ruin your day.
