If you take a look at two of the biggest reveals of the year — the BMW M3 and M4 — it’s easy to assume that they are essentially one in the same. The M3 with four doors, and the M4 with only two– but the question on every enthusiasts mind is: which one do you choose?
Well, that’s a pretty difficult question considering both come with 431 horsepower via a twin-turbocharged inline-six engine and drop-dead-gorgeous good looks. But while the M3 boasts practicality, the M4′s sleek new design is an eye-catching piece of engineering.
Take a closer look:
From the front, we can see that the resemblance of the two cars is uncanny; from the aggressive new vents, to the identical headlights, to that signature twin-kidney grille. The only difference is, the M4 sits a little longer, and doesn’t have to account for the added rear doors, of course.
In the back, again, we see a similar set of lines. The M3 is a little stockier with the spoiler more squared into the rear angles of the car. We also see that the tailights on the M4 are a bit sleeker, playing in to the car’s longer design.
Both come with dual exhausts and an aggressive rear diffuser.
Now, the side profile sits a bit differently. It’s easy to see just how much longer the M4 actually is in comparison to the stockier M3. Of course, without the two extra doors, the M4 gives off a sleeker profile and a chopped roofline.
So what will it be — M3 or M4? Tell us in the comments below.
