Triumph's 2015 Special Edition Street Triple and Bonnevilles

So many of the Intermot unveilings earlier this month were non-U.S. items, like the Yamaha XJR1300. We thought the new Triumph Street Triple RX wasn't coming to the U.S. either, until we received a phone call from Triumph saying it might just be and along with it comes two new special edition Bonnevilles.

Triumph Street Triple RX

Unveiled at Intermot was the special edition 2015 Street Triple RX. Far being from a new model, Triumph made the wise decision to add the Daytona 675 rear fairing onto the Street Triple along with a quick shifter, belly pan, red-rear subframe and an exclusive paint scheme that included Diablo Red wheels and a matte aluminum paint.

It’s sort of like a mix of the Daytona 675R and Street Triple. It’ll be the most loaded Street Triple you can buy, with a $11,199 MSRP, and will hit dealerships in February, 2015.

· Fully adjustable KYB forks and rear monoshock

· Two year unlimited mileage warranty as standard

The Bonneville Newchurch

Triumph also introduces the Newchurch special edition Bonneville built to celebrate the annual Triumph Tridays festival held in a small Austrian town, Neukirchen, it’s the world’s biggest Triumph party. The town even changes it’s name just for the party, Newchurch, hence the name for Triumph’s new special edition bike.

The bike will be offered in two different color schemes, but both paint schemes will feature blacked-out fenders, headlamp bowl, handlebars, mirrors and springs. The wheels are black with red pinstriping and the seat is unique to the Newchurch.

The special edition is primarily a visual upgrade, but still pretty cool. Triumph has a record of not rethinking the wheel, but building on their already well-performing existing platforms.

T214 Land Speed Bonneville

This is a pretty cool bike from Triumph, the T214 Land Speed Limited Edition Bonneville. Built to commemerate Johnny Allen’s 1956 Bonneville land speed record, the bike will feature the distinctive colors of Johnny Allen's Texas Cee-Gar, and a serial-number plaque as production will be limited to only 1000 bikes. Each bike’s Caspian Blue and Pure White color scheme is hand painted.

Again another visual upgrade, it’s a kind of cool update on the Bonneville. The T214 will be listed at $9,999 and hit dealers’ floors before December, 2014.

No, Triumph won't set the world on fire with these new model refreshes. The RX is a great addition to the lineup of Street Triples, but not necessarily a stand-alone product for Triumph. This year we've major introductions from Ducati with the Scrambler and Kawasaki with the H2 and H2R; hopefully Triumph has an ace up the sleeve and we'll see something all-new next year.
