Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin certainly build dream cars. And sure, their creations haunt your imagination, but at the end of the day someone else dreamt them up. That creates a bit of a problem. What do you do if you want a car unique to your dreams? If money isn’t a limiting factor, call up the Envisage Group.
Based in Coventry, England, Envisage specializes in the building and design of bespoke low-volume vehicles. The outfit has built prototypes and concept cars for Jaguar, Aston Martin, and Bentley, but recently announced it would open its doors to individual customers and their fantastical one-off ideas.
The company uses proven production chassis and drivetrains to negate and overcome some of the costs and hardships of building custom cars. This allows Envisage to focus solely on sculpting and molding a car into what the client desires. Effectively, it’s modern day coachbuilding, and you might just recognize their first product – David Brown Automotive’s Speedback GT.
The firm teamed up with David Brown Automotive to create this dream car, which brings the iconic lines of the Aston Martin DB5 to a modern Jaguar XKR chassis. It serves as the benchmark for future custom orders through Envisage, and will subsequently be put into production on the company’s behalf. Envisage also plans a 250-car limited run of the Lyonheart K; a re-imagined Jaguar E-Type also based on the XKR platform.
If you’ve got the dreams and the pocketbook, you can ride into the sunset with your own svelte creation – no budget committees, just the limits of your imagination. Costs will vary drastically between builds, but for a lack of better wording, you can’t put a price on turning a life-long dream into a reality.
