New Nissan Frontier Costs More Than a Chevy Colorado, at Least for Now
The 2025 Nissan Frontier lineup gets a little pricier than last year as part of a mild facelift.
The Frontier now starts at $33,560, which is up $1540 more than before and a couple thousand more than a 2024 Chevy Colorado WT.
A Frontier with a crew cab starts at nearly $35K, with 4x4 versions of the off-road Pro-4X and top-spec SL starting at $43,280 and $46,620, respectively.
Most mid-size pickup trucks start in the mid-$30,000 range. For 2025, the freshened Nissan Frontier's base price rises $1540 to $33,560. That leapfrogs the 2024 Chevy Colorado, which starts at $31,395, making it the least expensive mid-sizer—at least until prices for the 2025 model are announced.
Frontier Prices
Unlike the Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Ford Ranger, the Frontier offers two cab styles and bed lengths (same as the Toyota Tacoma). Nissan only offers the extended "King" cab on the Frontier's entry-level S and SV trims, with the latter starting at $35,900 for the rear-wheel-drive version. Four-wheel drive adds $3300 to almost all model's bottom lines, but it's a $3K upcharge on the base trim. The least expensive crew-cab Frontier is the $34,960 S, which is a little higher than a comparable 2024 Ford Ranger XL SuperCrew.
Wanna outfit a '25 Frontier with the crew cab and the SV trim that has more features? The entry fee for that setup with the standard five-foot box and rear-wheel drive is $37,300; the longer six-foot bed adds $500 on every Frontier it's available. Folks can enjoy more off-road capability with the Pro-4X trim, which just like the top-of-the-line SL only comes with a crew cab. With rear-wheel drive, the Pro-4X and SL start at $43,280 and $46,620, respectively. The four-wheel-drive Pro-4X costs $43,280. Compare that with the Colorado Z71 ($42,095), Ranger XLT FX4 ($42,185), and Tacoma TRD Off-Road ($43,295).
The 2025 Nissan Frontier has a host of upgraded equipment, including an available 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and standard driver assists (adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beams, and blind-spot monitoring). The SL has the fanciest features such as LED headlights, leather-appointed seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 10-speaker Fender stereo. Every Frontier is powered by a 310-hp 3.8-liter V-6 that pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
