Ohio State cornerback Sevyn Banks transfers to LSU football

Sevyn Banks, a cornerback at Ohio State, has transferred to LSU football, the school announced on Tuesday.

Banks, a fifth-year senior, made 15 starts in four seasons with the Buckeyes. He's compiled 43 tackles and two interceptions in his collegiate career.

At 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, the Orlando, Florida, native battled injuries throughout the 2021 season and started in six games, playing in nine. Banks started in all eight games the season prior and came into 2021 as a projected NFL Draft prospect.

Banks is the 15th player to transfer to LSU this offseason and the fourth cornerback, joining UL's Mekhi Garner, Oklahoma State's Jarrick Bernard-Converse and Arkansas' Greg Brooks Jr.

The Tigers had to remake their cornerbacks room this offseason after starters Dwight McGlothern and Eli Ricks transferred to Arkansas and Alabama, respectively, and Derek Stingley Jr. and Cordale Flott entered the NFL Draft.
