OU women's basketball: Taylor Robertson, Madi Williams lead Sooners past Minnesota

First-year Oklahoma women's basketball coach Jennie Baranczyk watched her club come back and beat Utah 83-76 on Tuesday night at Lloyd Noble Center. OU is off to a 10-1 start.

Robertson, Williams lead OU to another win

Taylor Robertson and Madi Williams are becoming quite a duo for the Oklahoma women's basketball team.

Robertson scored 19 points, and Williams added 12 points and 11 rebounds Monday, leading the Sooners to an 88-69 victory over Minnesota at the Battle for Atlantis Tournament in Paradise Island, Bahamas.

The Sooners improved to 5-1 with the victory — and a day after Robertson and Williams keyed a 93-72 rout over Buffalo. Robertson had 27 points in that game, and Williams collected 19 points and 12 boards.

OU next plays 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at SMU in Dallas.

Robertson joined the Sooners' 1,500-point club.

Frustrated Mayfield skips media session

Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield said frustration with his own performance — not being booed by Cleveland fans — caused him to head straight to the locker room following the game and not speak to the media.

Mayfield threw two interceptions in Sunday's 13-10 victory over the winless Detroit Lions, a sloppy, penalty-filled affair for the Browns (6-5), who survived and kept their playoff hopes intact.

After the final snap, Mayfield took off his helmet and didn't acknowledge teammates or the Lions as he gloomily walked off the field. He declined doing postgame interviews, which are required by the NFL unless a player is getting medical treatment.

RAIDERS: Former Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III received a stern talking-to from a Las Vegas judge but was allowed to remain on house arrest with a continuous alcohol monitor on one ankle and a GPS monitor on the other following a fatal crash he’s accused of causing by driving drunk.

Justice of the Peace Suzan Baucum told Ruggs and his lawyers she was “comfortable with a higher level of monitoring” after a hearing about a delay in Ruggs providing a remote breath-alcohol test with a hand-held device on Nov. 13.

“But if there are any misses, if there are any problems, if there is any alcohol detected in your system, you need to know that’s going to be problematic for this court going forward,” she said.

Since his Nov. 3 release from jail on $150,000 bail, Ruggs has passed more than 77 breath-alcohol tests, his lawyer told the judge.

CHARGERS 41, STEELERS 37: Justin Herbert threw a 53-yard touchdown pass to Mike Williams with 2:17 remaining as the Chargers rallied to hold off the Pittsburgh Steelers despite blowing a 17-point lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter.
