  • Porsche and Pixar collaborated to make a special Sally Carrera Porsche 911.

  • As the name suggests, this special Porsche 911 takes inspiration from the 2006 Pixar classic Cars.

  • The one-of-a-kind car will be auctioned at the RM Sotheby’s sale in Monterey, California, on Saturday, Aug. 20, with proceeds going to charity.

Update: Porsche has completed the 911 Sally Special and announced it's heading to RM Sotheby's Monterey sale. This Sally Special is based on a current Carrera GTS. That means this special Sally edition features a 473-hp flat-six, and it's stuffed full of one-off features that set it apart from the standard Porsche coupe.

The Sally Special is covered in an aptly named Sally Blue Metallic—a shade that makes its way to as many pieces of this special Porsche as possible. This one-of-a-kind model also has custom wheels, revised interior, and Sally's trademark pinstripe tattoo. It comes with an extra set of wheels, a car cover, and other pieces from the Sally Special's development process.

The Pixar film Cars is likely more than responsible for a portion of younger car enthusiasts.

The 2006 animated movie was not only financially successful and a current staple of the Pixar catalog, but it also opened the door to car culture in a way that no one had done before. While the film’s protagonist Lightning McQueen was clearly the star, the local Radiator Springs attorney Sally Carrera is getting a reboot in reality.

Porsche and Pixar are working together to bring Sally Carrera to the real world. Of course, this Sally Carrera-inspired Porsche 911 won’t be a sentient, studied citizen of Radiator Springs—it’s going to be a simple Porsche 911 that doesn’t hold a law degree. That said, this will be a real Porsche 911.

More importantly, this will be a one-of-a-kind Porsche 911 that was put together through a collaboration with the team at Pixar and the team at Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. Joining the car is a similarly exclusive watch from Porsche Design. So this 911 won’t be cheap.

If you’re wondering how you can snag your own Sally Carrera edition 911, well, that’s easier said than done. This Porsche is slated to be auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s with the proceeds going to charity.

According to Porsche, “Proceeds from the auction will support life-changing programs for girls and young women through Girls Inc. as well as the USA for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to provide aid to children and their families affected by the conflict in Ukraine.”

We expect this road-legal, Cars-inspired 911 will fetch a handsome sum for a good cause.

Do you think this Porsche will bring big bucks at auction? Or is it too niche for deep pockets? Let us know your thoughts below.
