Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Cooperating with FBI Investigation
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing is cooperating with the Federal Bureau of Investigation as the agency conducts an inquiry at the team’s shop in Zionsville, Indiana, the team said Wednesday night.
“We are cooperating fully with investigators,” the team said in a statement. “Given that this is an ongoing investigation, we are limited in what information we can share right now, but we intend to provide additional information as soon as we can.”
Zionsville city officials assisted the FBI, although only FBI agents entered the shop buildings.
The FBI has not commented on the reason for the investigation. RLL employees were told to leave the building and their electronic devices during the investigation.
The veteran team is owned by former driver Bobby Rahal, businessman Mike Lanigan and former talk show host David Letterman.
Christian Lundgaard, Graham Rahal and Pietro Fittipaldi drove full-time for the RLL IndyCar team this season. Lundgaard was 11th in the final point standings. Rahal was 18th and Fittipaldi 19th. The team went winless.
