Ram Is Building a 'Yellowstone' Edition Truck, But You Can't Buy It in America
In what seems like an incredibly obvious piece of cross-promotion, Ram Trucks is building a 2500 Yellowstone Edition to celebrate and coincide with the launch of the Yellowstone TV show’s final season (or half-season, really). But here's the twist: if you want one, you’ll need to move to Australia. We at Road & Track asked Ram, and as of, now it has no plans for a Yellowstone version of its trucks in America.
Turns out, Australians are huge fans of the drama series — so much so that Ram's Down Under office and Paramount collaborated on this pickup project. Ram pickups feature prominently in the show, and are notably driven by members of the Dutton family, the fictional owners of the largest ranch in Montana who serve as the protagonists of the series.
As for the pickup itself, the Yellowstone model is based on the 2500 Heavy Duty model, and is equipped with the Cummins six-cylinder turbo. The interior is pretty standard Ram fare, but the exterior boasts Yellowstone graphics on the bedsides, badging on the front doors and one more badge above the rear sliding door. Ram also equips it with a selection of black-painted trim: a glossy black grille, mirrors and badging throughout, for example. The wheels are also finished in black alloy.
The rest of the truck is nicely equipped, and is similar in spec to the Laramie model. That means you get the big 12-inch UConnect infotainment system, heated and cooled leather seats, a power-operated tailgate and a whole host of driver assistance systems. Six different exterior paint options will be available, so you won’t be required to select the Delmonico Red that Ram revealed the truck in.
If you happen to live in Australia, you can head to the dealership to order one today – there are no limited production stipulations, so if you want a piece of the Yellowstone show in the form of a pickup, the door is open.
