NYPost.com's Andrew Marchand reported last month that Adams, who was the Cincinnati Bengals' "Ruler of the Jungle" for their Week 14 showdown with the San Francisco 49ers at Paul Brown Stadium, could land as the host of Amazon Prime Video's "Thursday Night Football" pregame show.
Amazon will pair Herbstreit with former Reds radio play-by-play announcer Al Michaels in its "Thursday Night Football" broadcast booth in the fall. The Bengals announced Thursday that they'll face the Miami Dolphins on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday in Week 4.
More from Marchand:
“Kay has been a big part of the success of Good Morning Football and we hope to keep her in the NFL Media family for years to come,” Alex Riethmiller, the vice president of communications for NFL Media, told The Post.
Sources described Adams as a leading candidate to be the Amazon Prime Video “TNF” host for the show that is expected to be on site each week. No deal is completed.
In January, while appearing on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Adams said her contract was up in May and she hoped to be on an even bigger platform.
“It’s no secret the goal is to have the pedigree to have the big boy seat at the table,” Adams told McAfee.
Adams was the only "GMFB" co-host to pick Cincinnati over the Titans during the NFL playoffs, and it did not go unnoticed by the Bengals.
Adams previewed - with Cincinnati Bengals radio voice Dan Hoard - the team's playoff win against the Las Vegas Raiders, and encouraged Bengals fans to bring the same energy to Paul Brown Stadium that they brought when she visited last month.
"I had the time of my life. I think everyone in the world knows I had the time of my life in Cincinnati. It has to be that same energy (for Saturday's playoff game)," Adams told Hoard. "I really love the fanbase. I think this is a fanbase that is really riveted and enthusiastic, and enjoying the moment. And I hope it works out."
Adams has been known to give the Bengals plenty of love on "GMFB." In July, she predicted that Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow would lead the AFC North in passing yardage this season, and also would lead Cincinnati to the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season.
