Reward offered for information in 2021 shooting outside hotel birthday party

Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in the shooting death of a 20-year-old man last year.

Kaylian Redd, of North Linden, was at a birthday party with several friends on July 29 at a hotel near the area of Airport Drive and North Cassady Avenue on the city's East Side.

Around 1:40 that morning, Columbus police were called to the 1400 block of North Cassady Avenue, where they found Redd with gunshot wounds lying in a grassy area.

Columbus police homicide investigators determined that Redd had left the party to go look for a friend who had previously left the hotel. Redd was seen on surveillance video at the Turkey Hill gas station, located at 1425 N. Cassady Ave., and the video showed a vehicle following Redd when he left.

Detectives describe the vehicle as being a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Dodge Caliber, with multiple people inside.

Redd was shot at multiple times and he collapsed in the grassy area where he was found. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
