Rimac Breaks Out the Copper for Its 15th BirthdayRimac

15 years ago, Mate Rimac embarked on a quest to create a car company in Croatia. His company began with an EV conversion of an E30-generation BMW, but the last decade and a half have seen it grow into a fully operational manufacturer of groundbreaking electric hypercars. Although the company has only actually been building cars for customers for a few years, Rimac is taking a moment to celebrate this anniversary of its founding with a little treat: a 15th-anniversary edition of the stellar Rimac Nevera.

In some ways, the 15th-anniversary edition is more like something you'd expect from Rimac's new sister company Bugatti. There are no mechanical changes; rather, this is a limited edition of the "regular" Nevera with a unique visual package. In this case, the anniversary is celebrated with a unique pattern over a copper color that Rimac claims is the brand's first-ever matte finish.

Inside, the 15th anniversary Nevera boasts copper anodized switches and surfaces painted in the exterior's special copper shade. The interior also features copper-colored leather, and text commemorating this as a one-of-nine collectible hypercar. Otherwise, the cabin is what you'd expect from Rimac's electric hypercar.

Nine 15th anniversary editions of the Nevera will be made, all available with custom luggage matching a chosen interior color for a mere $2.5 million. The car will debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed later this week. That event's hill climb, after all, is the site of one of the Nevera's many records — a 49.32 second run up the course set last year.
