Road Rage Turns Into Explosive Situation

Stories of road rage seem to be everywhere these days as too many people fly off the handle over just about anything. Many involve fistfights, a few feature other weapons, and then there are shootings. But this is the first time we can remember seeing road rage end with someone throwing an explosive into the other vehicle.

Robotaxis have been keeping San Francisco residents up at night.

The case we’re referring to involves 36-year-old Kevindale Nurse of Brooklyn, New York who’s accused of tossing a high-powered firework into a utility van after not liking something the driver did on the road.

As you can see from the photo of the aftermath, the resulting damage was extensive. Both Verizon workers who were in the utility van were injured, although the exact nature of those injuries hasn’t been revealed.

One of the most disturbing aspects of this case is the fact Nurse’s four-year-old son was in the minibus he was driving at the time of the road rage attack. After some exchange with the Verizon van, Nurse is accused of driving recklessly before cutting off the other vehicle back on January 31.

As both vehicles sat at a red light, Nurse allegedly opened the sliding door of the minibus, lit a firework, and threw it through the open driver’s window. Who even does such a thing? And why would do a gross act of violence like that in front of your kid?

Now Nurse is facing the consequences of his actions, which includes federal charges. After appearing in court for an initial hearing, he was taken into custody and denied bail. If he’s convicted of the charges brought against him, the man could serve seven to 40 years behind bars.

All that over some road rage.
