Ruf Reveals Rowdy Rodeo All-Terrain Sports Car
Boutique carmaker Ruf unleashed a new model called the Rodeo at The Quail during Monterey Car Week.
The 610-hp Rodeo promises to be a rip-snorting good time and features a raised suspension and off-road accoutrements such as an adjustable all-wheel-drive system.
Cabin trimmings, said to be inspired by Ralph Lauren Ranch, feature gorgeously-grained dark brown leather on the doors, dashboard, and seats.
Off-roadable sports cars are gaining more attention, even at events such as Monterey Car Week. One such ride is the 2025 Ruf Rodeo, which features a 9.5-inch ride height, an adjustable all-wheel-drive system, and a six-speed manual transmission.
Mounted at the back of the Rodeo is a turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six with 610 horsepower. Thanks to carbon-fiber monocoque construction, the Rodeo weighs less than 3000 pounds. That should mean pretty blistering acceleration.
Both axles get a limited-slip differential, and a set of 235/55R-18 Goodyear all-terrain tires developed exclusively for the Rodeo comes standard. Other performance goodies include ceramic brakes, an integrated roll cage, forged center-lock wheels, and a suspension system with electronically adjustable dampers.
The cabin is pretty posh too, with beautiful dark brown leather upholstery covering most of the dash and doors. The seats are trimmed in matching leather, with cloth inserts in a pattern inspired by the American Southwest. Ruf says the interior design is inspired by Ralph Lauren Ranch, the clothier's famed estate in Telluride, Colorado.
Of course, the Rodeo's conceptual similarities to Porsche's 911 Dakar cannot be ignored, although there's an obvious distinction between the two because of the Ruf's more vintage appearance. Both promise to be an absolute hoot to drive, but the Rodeo's boutique nature will likely mean it will remain a rarer sight than the Porsche outside of car-centric events such as Monterey Car Week.
Production of the Ruf Rodeo is set to kick off soon at a starting price of $1,250,000. Those who've got that kind of scratch and find the Rodeo's mix of performance, vintage flavor, and rugged Southwestern ambiance irresistible probably already know to get their orders in sooner rather than later.
