Santa lands in Lubbock: City Christmas village brings lights, cocoa, music and more
Santa and Mrs. Claus have returned to the Hub City, taking up a temporary residence their traditional Christmas-themed village in Mackenzie Park.
The City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation Department debuted its 66th Annual Santa Land on Saturday, and it will continue through Thursday, Dec. 22. Visitors can stop by daily from 6 to 10 p.m. at 600 Cesar E. Chavez Drive. The event is free, although a variety of concessions including hot chocolate, gingerbread cookies and more are for sale at the event.
Approximately 50,000 people visit Santa Land each year to see the festive holiday village with its huge lighted Christmas tree, animated displays, bonfires, traditional holiday scenes, and of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus.
