Yahoo Autos Schumacher Leads F2 Championship With One Round Remaining
Mick Schumacher, son of seven-time Formula 1 champion Michael, finished on the podium just once in last season's FIA Formula 2 Chamionship. It was a sprint race win, mind you, but it was his only podium in a season that ended with a championship finish of just twelfth.
Of course, he also finished twelfth as a rookie in FIA Formula 3. He would go on to win eight races en route to a championship in his second season in that category.
While this year has not been as overwhelming a success as that 2018 Formula 3 Europe championship campaign, Schumacher has shown a similar improvement after spending another year in the Formula 2 car. He has just two wins this year, but has recorded ten podium finishes through 22 races and leaves this weekend's races at Bahrain with a slim championship lead.
